Where in the world will Teresa be?
Right now, I can't answer that question. But in 3 weeks I'll be able to!
Currently, three weeks from today, I could be:
a. right here in Madison
b. in STP
c. in El Salvador
Not knowing is kiiiiiinda driving me insane. I sent my AN to El Salvador last Tuesday, to teach English. The TN manager is checking to see if they will take me for just 2 mos. If not, I've decided I won't look for another TN. It is getting too close to the end to start looking for something else. I'd love to do a TN this summer and improve my Spanish, but it just seems like it isn't working out for a reason....
I've also decided that instead of studying abroad next fall I'll do a TN then, in Colombia. It'll get a better job cuz I'll have a lot more time to look and to be there. And, the 3 kids I babysit that are adopted from Colombia may be traveling there next spring, so we'd be able to meet up!
I'll be disappointed if this summer doesn't work out, but staying in Madison is sounding more and more appealing. A lot of my friends are staying so there'd be plenty of people around. Madison is glorious in the summer (the dock!) and I wouldn't go crazy at home w/ the fam.... My parents said I have to take classes if they're going to be paying rent for me to be here, so I'll probably take a Spanish phonetics class. I'm currently signed up for it in the fall, but it doesn't fit into my schedule very nicely. I'd much rather get it out of the way in the summer.
I also applied for Wisconsin State Journal internship for the fall and may ask to be considered for the summer as well, if I get an interview. So maybe I could do that, along with working at my current job part-time. I'd probably go insane if I did that, since I work there 10 hours a week now and do NOTHING. I'd consider getting a job in a restaurant just to make more money and have it be more interesting.
If I go home, I don't know what's going to happen. I could probably work at my job from last summer again, which I loved, but I'm not sure I want to do again. And getting up at 7:45 every day was NOT my favorite thing. I'd also probably get preeeeeeety annoyed with the fam and spend too much time with friends. Although this IS the last summer everyone will be home....
So basically, I have no clue what's going to happen.
All I do know is that my econ homework due tomorrow is NOT going to happen.

Teresa M. Welsh (what is your middle name anyways?), don't you DARE say that this is the last TN you are applying for!! You have been planning to do a TN this summer forever, you seriously can't quit now. Last year Muff emailed over 100 TN managers before he got matched. He got matched 2 weeks after school got out. Cynthia too had the most difficult time getting matched and had to try several TNs before she finally got matched to Morocco in like June, and left at the end of June. So there is no such thing as "too close to the end to start looking for something else." I think it's an unavoidable part of the process that just happens to some people and can't be avoided. But you know it is totally going to be worth it--look at Cynthia and Muff and how much they talk about their TNs at every RoKS conference and they will easily both tell you it was totally worth going through the annoying TN search to be able to have the life-altering experience they had. No one has an easy matching process, so that is no excuse to quit now when you we all know how much you wanted to do a TN this summer. AIESEC is hella annoying sometimes and extremely frustrating sometimes, but in the end will be worth the time and frustration and expensive plane tickets and credit card debt. Trust me.
